On April 29, the Soka Institute of the Amazon in Manaus, Brazil, hosted an event to welcome the Regional Labor Court of the 11th Region as a new member of the Amazonas Hub of the UN Global Compact. The Soka Institute is also a member of the hub, which functions to promote sustainability and the SDGs among companies and other stakeholders in the State of Amazonas. Judge Ormy da Conceição Dias Bentes, president of the Court, expressed her hope for further cooperation in the promotion of environmental protection and education. The participants planted a total of 32 saplings as part of the Soka Institute’s Life Memorial project, which aims to honor every Brazilian victim of COVID-19.
